What are Valve Stem Seals?

 Valve stem seals are relatively small but play an important role in lubricating engines. Valve seals are designed to purposefully leak oil in small amounts into the combustion chamber, enough to provide the necessary lubrication but not so much as to cause problems with excessive oil combustion and carbon buildup.
