O-Rings
Description
O-rings are, as their name implies, ring-shaped mechanical gaskets with elastic properties and a circular section, used to prevent leakage of fluids, such as oil, water, air, gas, and elements. Generally fixed in a groove, they can be used in both static and dynamic applications with moving components. O-rings are the simplest, but by far the most common and important mechanical design elements.
Measurements
O-ring measurements are usually defined by ID (inter diameter) and CS (cross section).
When purchasing o-rings, it important to accurately define the material, hardness, and size.
