Quality Management
Incoming Quality Control (IQC): What is it?
Incoming quality control(IQC) is the process of inspecting and controlling the quality before actual production begins. It helps prevent occasional shipment delays for example, which are due quality control personnel considering an item to be of inferior quality and not suitable for shipment, thus taking additional time for replacements.
IQC achieves greater quality control efficiency as it allows a client’s order to be inspected before the actual production starts, by looking for any defects in the structure and quality of the materials that go into the production of sealing products.
In short, the IQC process will be carried out to double check the composition of elastomers and metals that will form the oil seal, which is important for applications requiring high precision such as in the military and aviation industries.
The testing methods executed by IQC services include, but are not limited to:
- Physical properties testing and measurements: durability, stability, strength testing of the elastomers and metal components.
- Mechanical properties testing: testing resistance to fatigue and ruptures
- Regulatory testing: compliance with legal standards affecting oil seals
IQC achieves greater efficiency in quality control, suitable for markets demanding precision.
